Lunch with the FT - By the numbers

One of my favorite columns is the Financial Times’ weekly Lunch with the FT, in which a journalist takes their interviewee out to lunch for an interview, and in the final piece publishes their receipt. It’s a pretty simple concept and has been around in the salmon-colored paper for decades, but for some reason works really well and is a fun spin on a normal interview. Call it the predecessor to Hot Ones.

For reasons I’m still not entirely sure of, I felt compelled to compile the data after a short Twitter exchange with FT deputy news editor Alice Ross. Here are my initial findings. Send all feedback and suggestions to @joelleeman.
